Friday Night Misery And All Is Well
As SC&A prepare for our flight to the Great White North tomorrow (yes, our arms will tired upon a arrival), we are struck by a theme that seems to run through the comments on our guest posts by Betsy and Mamacita (with more to follow), and surprisingly, our post about the Pope, just below.
Since SC&A are not happy unless we can, at the very least, make you at least a bit unhappy and miserable, we now pose the following for your consideration.
Whether it is religion or child rearing- who said it was supposed to be easy?
Certainly, all religions, categorize the struggle to believe as a necessary component of true faith. As one great theolgian put it, 'The greater the Faith, the greater the doubt.'
What is it about us, that demands God conform to us and what we want, rather than we conform to Him and His Will? When did that happen? Does God answer to us or do we answer to God?
In the same vein, as we struggle to look for answers and meaning in raising our kids in a world very different than the one we grew up in, are some of the answers in the mirror?
