Greed Gone Wild, Government Edition

How many times have you been outraged by the government bulldozing it's way through, trampling on the individual? We all know political action groups and special interest groups generate an enormous amout of influence- but what about groups that exert extraordinary influence without giving anything back? There are industry, corporate and special interest lobby groups that, if their agenda was known, would outrage us all. Their agenda isn't to further democracy, or to enable a better life for the group, but rather, their agenda is one of unmitigated greed.

Darcey, author of Dust My Broom, recounts an incredible tale of corruption and greed:
Just imagine working hard to build up a life and a future for your family, then someone comes and takes it all away and nothing can be done about it. The perpetrators have impunity. No, not Africa, its down home Manitoba where its good to be the chief.
The post goes on to describe events that are so bizarre, so insane and so unlikely, that if they were extracted from a fictional account, the story would be discarded as just too improbable.

The events Darcey describes is also the recounting of lives that end in tragedy- and nobody, but nobody, will ever do a damn thing about it.
