The Tinfoil Hat Brigade And Still Blaming The Victim

...well I am not sure what the latest conspiracy theory is, but presumably to rally behind the President in support of his intelligence gathering methods....or better still, simply believe him.

I wonder what the actual point is? We do not have an enemy? We are not in danger and should not keep our vigilance up, and should relax into let's all live in peace together and love each other? We have not had a serious threat in the last five years therefore we will continue not to have any serious terrorist induced disasters? The President is fabricating information regarding thwarted attacks in order to keep the fear factor up? The Attorney General is lying to protect his unlawful President, who in turn lies to the American people to justify our presence in Iraq?

Here's the deal, folks. Al Qaeda inspired terror is more than a theoretical game played by academics or strategists and historians that teach at War Colleges. Terror is a very real and dangerous reality that affects western civilization. To think otherwise is to confirm that you are an idiot.

Does anyone really believe the cartoon riots would be a reality it weren't for the terrorists that have emboldened radical Muslims everywhere? Do anyone believe that the riots are nothing less than a new tactic, endorsed and employed by radical Islamists, designed to intimidate the west? There have been billions of less than flattering words and images, over decades, that preceded the cartoons published in Denmark- why the outrage now?

We have said that stupidity is a commodity, given out by God, in great abundance.

Once more, we have been proved right.

Only an idiot would wait for a promised calamity, from those that have already delivered the first blow, and only then acknowledge the threat and danger- and everyday, there are those who minimize the threat of people that have developed chemical weapons (what, you forgot the Al Qaeda video of the dog that was gassed?) and have threatened to use them?

Only an idiot cannot connect the dots between the Iranian president and the newly elected Hamas in the Palestinian Authority. President Almahdinejad has promised that the Palestinians 'with the help of other nations' would destroy Israel. Think that's a joke? Remember the CNN images of wild, frenzied Palestinians dancing and screaming 'GAS THE JEWS!' as Saddam rained SCUD missiles into Israel during Gulf War One?

Only an idiot would refuse to read the handwriting on the wall (actually, the announced message is more like a neon billboard) and only an even bigger idiot would appease the terrorists and at the same time, weaken his own defenses. That is akin to a rape victim apologizing to her attacker and then publicly blaming herself for the assault.

And all the while, we are being told that we will be assaulted again- and all the while, the same idiots repeat over and over, that we have nothing to fear. In fact, the time has come to kick the rapist where it hurts- and once and for all, relieve the rapist of the notion that he can continue to abuse and come back when he pleases.

We have written earlier that

Perhaps had we not waited for a diplomatic solution in Rwanda, a million lives would not have been lost. Perhaps had we told the Sudanese to go to hell, the tragedies in Darfur could have been mitigated. We certainly have the technology and weaponry to inflict maximum attitude adjustment on the janjaweed, the Arab tribes that rain terror on those they persecute.

One thing I know. DENIAL of the threat won't work, except to give our enemies time and space to do what they are intent on doing. DISPLACEMENT won't work, except to facilitate denial and tie the hands of those who are doing their best to deal with the threat. PARANOIA (and its little brother PROJECTION) only work against those who really are out to get you. It is not a helpful survival strategy if you give into your suspicions and turn your gun on the colleague standing next to you when the raging bull is bearing down on the two of you.

Feel free to wear that tinfoil hat and remain an idiot- just don't get in the way of serious people that take our freedoms seriously.
